Specifications:

We can also custom build new designs according to the needs of the client.

All doors are constructed of 14 gauge steel framing.

  Door thickness is 1 ½"

The weight of the doors will vary depending on the style and size. A 3’0 x 8’0 door = 200-250 lbs.

Mayan Doors standard glass frames are prepared to accommodate 5/8" tempered, insulated glass units. Other sizes of glass can be adapted if specified at the time of order.

Our specs for standard hardware are 2 1/8" boring, 2 3/8" backset, 5 ½" center to center. Exact measurements for other hardware sizes may be used, including most mortise locks, and must be specified at the time the door is ordered.

The doors come on a pre-hung unit with a steel frame. The steel frame supports the weight of the door and allows for installation with ease.

The doors can be insulated upon request. We use high quality foam insulation that is pumped into the framing and the body of the door. We recommend using double pane insulated glass as well if insulation of the door is requested.

Extension flush bolts are used on double door units. One flush bolt locks into the top of the door frame and the bottom flush bolt locks into the threshold/floor.

A combination of foam and rubber weather stripping is used around the door frame. The weather stripped glass frame and the rubber sweep make the door weather tight.

The glass frame can be tailored to accept almost any glass thickness in accordance to building requirements in your area. (We recommend tempered glass for use on all units.)

You have the option of the door swinging in or out. If the doors are being used on a commercial building, they must swing out and have a closing mechanism.

Lever handles cannot be used on the inside of a double door because they interfere with the ability to open the independent glass panel.

Mayan Doors designs can be made as a single or double door or with any of the arch shapes incorporated in the design of the top of the door. We can also manufacture gates, patio doors, wine cellar entries, wrought iron stair cases, or lighting fixtures.
